A light-emitting diode (LED) is a two-lead semiconductor light source. It is a p–n junction diode that emits light when activated. When a suitable current is applied to the leads, electrons are able to recombine with electron holes within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons.
The LED package is made of 2 types of a cube-shaped chip (LED chip) stuck together and shielded.
There are 2 types of structures for the LED package: cannonball type and chip type.
As there are various shapes and sizes for the LED, it is necessary that a dedicated nozzle for each LED should be used for stable pickup and place.
This material is made in order to meet requests from our customers that nozzles suitable for various LEDs can be chosen quickly and easily to handle LEDs stably.
Important points required for LED nozzles
(1) The upper shield part (silicon resin) of the cannonball type LED is soft and may be affected by stress. No stress should be given to the shield part.
(2) It should be avoided for the chip type LED that the edge of a nozzle touches on to only the transparent resin.
